This Week in NASA History: Formal Dedication of Marshall – Sept. 8, 1960

This week in 1960, President Dwight D. Eisenhower visited Huntsville to formally dedicate NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. The center was named in honor of Gen. George C. Marshall, Eisenhower’s wartime colleague and namesake of the famous Marshall Plan for European recovery following World War II.
